dc CHAOS + Order

artwork by barbara böttcher - each 40 x 40 cm 2006

The theme this week  CHAOS AND ORDER is my program and therefore not randomly selected and to prove it, my brother came still unannounced (as always) and therefore turned everything upside down,  because I thus suddenly had very different things to do, as actually planned! e.g. secretly quickly clean up here and there to be not too ashamed ...

And that's why today I am much too late, sorry!

With me you can spell from the football "After the game is before the game"
easily transferred to "After the chaos before the chaos!"

People who are always neat and perfect, are a phenomenon to me.
Perhaps they are also just plain boring? Or just really organized. Sigh.

To quote Albert Einstein:

"Nothing can exist without order -
nothing can occur without chaos "

Creative chaos to create something new from it? For me it is that way

And with luck and enough time comes a hole bunch together, but occasionally even everything is tidy and neatly sorted
well, as long as it holds up ...

... and sometimes you have  the chaotic "types" in your head simply lock in a box ...

Order and chaos is life, there is always an interplay.
so lets make the best of it ...

drawing challenge Invitation

Mandelbrot

This week I would like to invite you to the DC ORDER + CHAOS
 for next weekend 31.8./1.9.

If systems depend sensitively on changes that long-term predictions are impossible, it is called chaotic behavior. And our world is full of chaos. Sometimes, however, order forms all by itself.

The weather so sensitive to changes that in principle the flap of a butterfly's wing in China can affect the weather in Hamburg. This so-called butterfly effect describes what chaos means in science: tiny causes can thus attract large knock-on effects that predictions for the time evolution of systems are almost impossible.

This scientific article I found on the subject and as for me, I see and understand the principle of chaos very well that the order is on its own, I could not even find personally - I still hope ...

Who is having fun on this subject, is invited to play along
I am looking forward to your neatly chaotic posts!

Are you in?

Drawing Challenge NATURE

This weeks theme for our dc NATURE choosen by our wonderful tinyWoolf is a real challenge because of its endless possibilities. As always having too many ideas swirly around in my head, seeking nature and bringing bits and pieces of it back home...

I started with a simple collage (above) with scraps of nature drawings out of my collection of old books  to assemble different aspects of nature and highlight just one.

On my daily dog walks in the forrest my eyes were caught of all this little ? no idea how they're called "leaves of pine cones" left behind from very productiv squirrels and I started to collect and glued them into a material collage

here some details...

Yesterday evening collecting the 2nd round of "leaves" 3 dogs were heavenly barking at me as they passed by, I guess they were concerned about this weird woman crowling over the forrest floar and I believe her owner did the same... and I thought
"so what, I'm an artist I can do that, normally can everyone, normal is boring".

So if seeking and playing with nature ends up in finding the true nature/center
of yourself this is a good thing I assume...

... and talking about collecting on my yesterdays trip to a fleamarket which takes
places a couple of times at a recycling yard I found this old landscape painting which
seemed to me a gift of heaven for this drawing challenge and I altered it my way
playing with the romantic idea of nature, reality and humans habit to
map everything out maybe to feel safer if you always know were you are...

... and hung them into my bedroom and this way combined
this weeks challenge with last weeks. HA!

not to mentioned how much fun I had with this theme - thank you dear Nadine -
and please don't forget to visit Nadines always amazing and inspiring blog
to see all the results of all other participants!
Have a nice weekend,
Barbara

DC Bed + Board

Our lovely Ariane invited us to this weekends drawing challenge "Bed & Board" and at 1st it didn't speak to me at all and than to much, which isn't really unusual for me. That often ends in feeling of beeing totally mentally overwhelmed and visibly nothing done and in the end coming up with an clipping of all the wild rabbits of thoughts running around in my head or was it bed?
I can't remember...

Don't miss to go to Arianes wonderful and always inspiring blog to see all the other participants on that theme!

The only constant in life is change, which applies particularly to the table indoors and outdoors
here's a collection of the changing seasons.

And sometimes you go on travel and take your bed and board with you or been invited by a "stranger" who becomes a very good friend! Thanks to you for your kind and exceptionally hospitality dear Nadine!

Have a lovely weekend!
Barbara

Das grosse Nass / the big WET

Nic of luzia pimpinell  called today for "big wet" and  after holiday you brought a
suitcase of such images, at least if you were at the sea.

A great opportunity to show a few photos of our 2nd holiday week in Normandy / France.
Unfortunately, this leads me to immediate thoughts of escape.
Someone who has a bag of money for me, I want to GO again!

Follow me

As always a bit late, but who likes to follow me via bloglovin is now invited to do so.
I'm looking forward!
I'll do the same the other way round soon.

schon wieder genug davon.
Wo ist eigentlich der Sommer geblieben?
Wen ihn jemand gefunden hat, schickt ihn bitte hierher!

After rain follows sunshine, like yesterday, where we had the purest April weather.
Here some impression of thunderstorm rain.
As you can see, my lawn pretty needed it, but now I'm ready with it already.
Where has the summer gone?
Did anyone find him, than please send it to us!

well, not any better at the neighbours.

grey sky and pink surprises

Now its time to blog again. You can get so used to the break, that it is difficult to start again
and then it was much too hot ...

So schön!

DANKE LIEBE ASTRID DANKE!

But then I got this great surprise on Friday from le monde de kitchi,

I must just show you! So beautiful! I admire Astrid ability to sew so boundless, inconceivable just what she always conjures and now I'm the lucky one! And all these lovely little details, the little deer and glasses chain, key chain inside - just great and perfect it to go to the flea market today and stuffing it with all the findings.

THANK YOU THANK YOU LOVE ASTRID!

And then there's this very adventurous story of the ordered (deer) fabric, the container and the vessel that is broken in the middle in the Arabian Sea, together with the course material
 Astrid reported .here

How can a ship break in the middle?

Luckily no one was injured and so you can just giggle right away
when you see the ship cruise in 2 parts on the sea.

This story then led to the following collage:

I hope you all had a lovely time and we "see" us more often again
I'll soon make my round to you, I'm excited to see what I've missed!
See you soon, Barbara
